On the H Plus the max altitude is set by selecting the gear icon at the upper right side of the screen.

Not exactly. The FAA 400' alt limit applies regardless of the settings on the aircraft. If you need to fly higher then you would need a waiver.

No but I did a quick search on Google and found only one that I would like. It is advertised as FAA approved and can be seen from up to 5K.
Looks good and at reasonable price.

PS. I have the Lume cube ones but they are pure white and for a different purpose. I use them for when I am flying at a distance I can see which way the drone is facing as they are fitted on the front of thc craft. This link isn't for the H Plus but you can get the idea as to what they would look like. As far as I can remember I got mine from Yuneec here in Europe. There were prich over €240 I think? But I love them.
