In order to save someone grief in watching their drone fall from the sky I'd like to emphasize caution and that you conduct full power ground tests or implement a "flight probation" period before general use. I recently bought a dual charger and two 15.2V H+/ 520 batteries from Gifi. I was more than pleased with the charger, but unfortunately one of the batteries seemed to have developed a short when flying. It didn't show any issues at first, but during its last flight on "sport mode" I suspect the battery heated up and shorted the connections. From the flight log (see red arrows on Telemetry lines below), the battery went from 16 volts to 5 volts for about 10 seconds. Just enough time to crash hard on an nice piece of parking lot. It was a spectacular show where the C23 camera took the brunt and disintegrated in front of me. When I ran to the pile of drone that was once my Typhoon H +, it was sitting there on it's side all happy and running at full power, ready to fly again if the bottom wasn't crushed. I do recall some flights before this event (used the battery about 2 to 3 times), the drone was sometimes jerky. This should have triggered warning bells in my head but I chalked it up to some minor glitch in transmission or something.

This is a misinterpretation. The Typhoon H Plus has a lot of data sets in telemetry file that have no meaning and are filled with wrong data, usually with initial values. 5V is the initial (default) value for voltage.
Another indications for such unusable data sets are:
- not existent flight modes
- wrong vehicle type
- unrealistic altitudes
- the 'magic' value 85 --> hexadecimal 55 and binary 0101 0101 --> a bit pattern as initial value.

Q500log2kml as analysis tool for Yuneec flight logs will skip those telemetry datasets for analysis (Settings > data analysis > Purge H Plus checked) from Version 3.7 on.
Remote and RemoteGPS files are not affected.

that sucks, can you take the video off the controller ? that would be a #1 video on youtube..

typhoon H plus has a copy of videos on the controller if you had the camera recording .

My H had a battery problem that the seller failed to mention, once the battery was in, it was impossible to remove without using a pry stick, it came with two new batteries, that should have been a clue but price blindness has it's faults.
So I had to take the H apart to get the battery out without damaging anything, at first I though it was the battery case or box in the bird hindering easy removal, nope, it was the pins in the birds battery box weren't perfectly aligned so they would pinch into the battery when installed, took some time but I repaired it.
Is it possible that the battery wasn't fully pushed in?

I've had other birds that have had issues where I though they were plugged in and secure only to have them drop with the battery plug loose.

Another thing is that the GiFi's female spade slots are very tight, they drop right into the stock battery charging port but when I used my aftermarket charging harness I had to add a bit of silicon Diegel to the spades, those are the big pins, to get everything to work smoothly.
Look for burs on the brass of the spades that might inhibit smooth installation, maybe a light edge filing of the birds battery box spades will help too.

Might try a small dap of Dielctric grease on the spades to help ease the installation and removal of the battery.
