after heavy usage I have run across a potential defect at the antenna mounts on the arms. a hair line crack forms in the plastic led cover which will lead to the antenna to out right detach from arm of the aircraft if not delt with. symptoms are loose antenna that can be easy wiggled. also the screws may need to be tighten slightly. this has happened with both the rtk h520e and non rtk k520e. for me the rtk h520e may be able to repair with lock tight glue. the non rtk h520e needs the antenna replaced the antenna wire got exposed and the led lens is complete detached and can not be reattached the clips that hold it to the arms are broken off completely.

jb weld blue light activated glue used for antenna repair. reinforces the lens mount fine but needed to apply it to the antenna portion to the lens as well. after 1st 31.2mph flight the problem antenna came loose again. basically ended up coating the antenna to the lens with the jb weld. does not wiggle anymore. made sure none of the glue enter the motor area. other method perferred is make a arm bracket to attach the antenna to then mount said bracket to the arms of the h520e.

just did some flights on 8-13 with the h520e rtk with diy repairs done to the antenna on the drone. repairs held up strong so far doing another set of flights at 31 mph as soon as the rain clears and the batteries charged fully. also when using a rtk base station the voltage usage goes up on the st16e and the drone it self lowering max flight time with out payload.

further flights done on 8-20 with the h520e rtk with the epoxy work done on the antennas still held up strong so thats one working method of repair. just tested second method of repair using the first gen h520 as a test bed. using h520e antennas mounted on h920 motor block that is held in place by the h920 carbon fiber motor plate and h920 arm mounts are wrapped around the h520 arm and clamped together with the placement just right the new antenna mounts are solid and do not move. test flights were flawless so the second method of repair which is complete retrofitting of the antennas to the h520e will be doable with modification to run the wire though the led lam shade.

here is some photos of the modification made to first gen h520 to see if the h920 motor blocks could be used to mount the h520e antennas. full battery test flights were done flight time was about the same when the first gen h520 had not been modified. the led covers has not been modified for the antenna wires yet but I have a idea on how to do it. 2 more small screws may be needed to retain the led shade when all is completed.

6 more test flights were done on 8-27-22. on the first gen h520 with e90 camera. no issues with flights. older batteries were used 6 from 2017. lower flight times were had. but unit was stable.
