Motor Kill As A Backup Plan

Just a quick question for y'all. Specifically those that have had flyaways. Did any of you try to kill the motors? I know it would suck, but to me, I would rather dump it right in front of me, as opposed to it going God knows where, and potentially hurting folks. I've briefed my son on hitting (and holding) the motor kill switch if it becomes completely unresponsive. I know this wouldn't work with a complete disconnect between bird and transmitter, but I think in most cases, it might save it from leaving the area altogether.

Cheers!
