Welcome to the Forum!
The Forum has lots of things that can help, but scattered over many thousands of articles. The search Icon can be a very good friend for finding things you need.

One tip for a new flyer is to remove the camera for the first few flights. Things may happen in ways you do not expect. The camera is expensive, easily damaged and much harder to repair than the drone itself.

Welcome to YuneecPilots forum!

You will find the Typhoon H to be a trustworthy drone. The latest firmware update was released in early 2017 and your system is likely already using that firmware release.

Since this has not been flown in quite awhile one of the first things to check is the ST16 to make sure all the controls are working properly. Go to System Settings, Hardware Monitor and check all controls. The sticks should go full scale in all directions without lag or jitter then return to center.

If that checks out fine you can do a test flight in an open area (without the camera). Place the Rate Slider on the right side of the ST16 in full forward (Rabbit) position (always use this position during takeoff/landing so full control range is available). Use the Angle mode of flight (Smart mode does some things that can trick a pilot that is not familiar with its intricacies), and just do basic maneuvers until you get used to the response of the aircraft to your commands.

I’ve attached the Enhanced User Manual. I keep a copy on my phone for easy reference in the field.

Thanks for that tip and I’ve already learned a bit just reading and searching. I’m seeing with these, as most things if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it so I’ll keep that in mind too.
Best tip of all is download and study the user manual to a T. DoomMeister gave you the link ,such a great guy.I had mine for a year before the manual was complete,or until I joined this site and really got into it. Meanwhile a few costly mistakes were made ,which could have been avoided if I had the knowledge contained in the manual. These are not simple ready to fly drones. They are serious great fun big boy drones. I suggest you learn about the batteries. Lots of info on here, just search the magnifier ,ask lots of questions. Let the drone sit w full battery in clear sky outdoor area to charge small gps almanac battery so when you fire it up it will acquire gps co-ords and come back to you when you want. Have fun, lots of good help on here from true experts,,not me!! Peace KC
