After acknowledging that swollen/puffed batteries can be a serious danger, I learned today that "Batteries Plus Bulbs" will take our old LIPO batteries and recycle them for us. BPB appears to be a national operation with local franchises. No questions asked; not even how low the charge level was. Also, no fee was charged for the disposal.

One of the most significant risks is a build-up of gas that swells the outer soft surface of the battery. If that surface is torn (during insertion as an example) and the contents are exposed to oxygen, I am told that you don't want to be close.

Thanks, there is one near me in California, and I have batteries to dispose of. I'll check it out, California tends to have rules different than the rest of the country........ :-(

Dumb question but what causes them to puff up so dramatically. I know they are pretty much history then but it can happen so quickly. Does using them more help?

If a porn photo shows up it's a joke gone awry and it showed up on my photo just now. It's a mistake and can't remove it. HELP
