Here’s the timeline for return activities (all times Eastern):

• 1:51 p.m. – Crew Dragon performs claw separation. The claw is located on Crew Dragon’s trunk, connecting thermal control, power, and avionics system components located on the trunk to the capsule.
• 1:51 p.m. – Trunk separation
• 1:56 p.m. – Deorbit burn begins
• 2:08 p.m. – Deorbit burn complete
• 2:11 p.m. – Nosecone deploys
• 2:32 p.m. – Crew Dragon maneuvers to attitude for re-entry
• 2:44 p.m. – Drogue parachutes deploy at about 18,000 feet in altitude while Crew Dragon is moving approximately 350 miles per hour.
• 2:45 p.m. – Main parachutes deploy at about 6,000 feet in altitude while Crew Dragon is moving approximately 119 miles per hour.
• 2:48 p.m. – Splashdown

A good title for a topic. We are really at that period in the development of space technologies when we can talk about the imminent presence of people in space.
I wonder if we will soon have some kind of fundamentally new rocket engine?
A new report from the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine indicated that NASA would need to implement an aggressive and urgent nuclear technology program for a human flight to Mars in 2039. In this regard, the agency will have to commit itself to carry out an extensive and objective assessment of the merits and problems of using various types of space nuclear propulsion systems and make significant investments in related technologies within a year. The report also outlines the need for subsystems, system prototypes, ground testing and cargo missions as a means of flight qualifications to transition to manned operation. The report refers to the need to create more powerful propulsion and power plants to the main fundamental problem of deep space flights. It can also be noted that, according to the report, quite traditional systems are now being considered in the United States, which are associated with the use of either thermal or power propulsion systems.
