Hi,

I am trying to use the Typhoon H for construction mapping but am not sure how to? I spoke to a Yuneec representative and he told me that the H is not meant for mapping but I am trying to figure something out with it. If anyone has used the Typhoon H for mapping could you please let me know what software you used and how you transferred your flight plan to the drone.

Ryanmc,

Welcome to the forum!

There are lots of ideas out there and have been discussed many times.

You should be able to find many of these discussions if you use the search tool and search for keywords such as:

  • mapping
  • UAV Toolbox
  • Typhoon H
There are also free software programs out there such as ICE (Image Composite Editor - Microsoft Research). Searching on that should bring up similar discussions.

Don't forget about other search engines outside this forum.

Hope this helps you find information that has already been posted, rather than waiting for folks to repeat it.

Good luck!

Jeff

I do some "mapping" with my H. I use Flight Planner H - Waypoints Creator for Yuneec Typhoon H to lay out the grid, and CCC editor for typhoon H - by Eric EMMANUEL to edit the flights as needed (such as redirecting the grid around a tower on site). I process everything with photoscan. It works well for what it is. I'm not a licensed surveyor, so I can't use any of it as actual maps, but having a single high res aerial of the site is very useful. If I were a licensed surveyor, I'd use a higher end setup, but this is great for amateur level work.
