Fooled by the Battery Click

It is very easy to be fooled by the click when you insert the battery. Listen and look for the second click to make sure it's really locked into place.

Maybe that's why there are so many reports from people who've had their H drop from the sky that are adamant that their battery was inserted properly?

Yes, that first "quasi click" is the contacts just loosely touching the male pins
in the front of the battery enclosure... that's why the H at that point will
have power. Pushing it in firmly seats those contacts... the second "click"
is the one you should be listening for... the lock latch engaging.

I will also do a final check... if the battery is properly seated, when you
pull back on the battery without lifting the latch release cover, you should
not be able to pull that battery back out.

I believe it is the primary cause but not the only one. There are other failures that can occur.
