Retract the landing gear to fast?

Last time I flew I retracted the gear very (too?) fast at about a 2-3 feet above ground... and the H dropped like a dead bird to the ground1 I don't rememer if the props were on but I killed the motors. Luckyly nothing broke but why did it happen? Should one always wait until the H is higher up??
Usually I wait unitl 20-30feet before I retract. and I don't know why I did it så quick this time...:eek:
 
No, I frequently retract the gear at similar heights, so it's not that.
I have seen a few reports of the Typhoon 'dying' in flight and it has been suggested that when this happens, the battery was not properly inserted. It needs to be firmly pushed in until a definite click is heard.
