The Mantis G is awesome guys

How are the antennas oriented relative to the drone? They should be pointed like this - flat side toward the drone.

The Mantis G is awesome guys

@Jerry LaFlamme Jr 62 Like I wrote in my earlier post, I was able to fly to 1500 meters until first problems with the video feed started. I could continue, but I didn't want to. This was away from any sources of interference, above a field in the countryside., altitude 70 meters AGL.

The Mantis G is awesome guys

Got some materials here. None of the photos were edited in any way, except adding a logo. Sorry, it's all in polish. There are links to unedited videoclips and photos for downloading. https://aeromind.pl/NOWY-MANTIS-G-PIERWSZE-WRAZENIA-Z-LOTOW-blog-pol-1571831942.html I admit there were some...

The Mantis G is awesome guys

I just made some test flights. I can say, that the gimbal works really well. Another improvement is range - it's a lot better, up to 1500meters. On that distance the first glitches appeared and I turned back immediately. I didn't compare it side to side in the same circumstances, but despite the...

    Yuneec NFZ map

@ttmarch I'm guessing you are from USA. In Europe you have send the copter over to the service dept in Germany, and you need to pay them to get the NFZ removed.

Light crash, now H520 won't connect

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but if the uneven distribution of weight happens so close to the center of the rotation axis, it will not introduce that much vibration into the system. I think you shouldn't worry about this. Also, bare in mind, that sometimes propwash and/or wind...

    Yuneec NFZ map

@Mostbestus yes, H520 has no NFZ whatsoever, you can fly it anywhere, straight from the box.

    Expo Parameters - ST16S

As far as I know some parameters cannot be edited at all while some can, but get reset immediately (i.e. you leave the menu, come back and they are set back to default). Some, however save the new values until the moment you reboot your ST16S. One of those parameters is the one that allows the...

Why does the telemetry altitude steadily increase when the copter is just sitting in a room?

@WTFDproject I know it's normal :) I saw this in many Yuneecs (all were flying fine). My question is not a troubleshooting one. My question comes from technical curiosity :). I would just like to know why. @Steve Carr interesting, because PX4 logs show graphs for barometer altitude, GPS...

Why does the telemetry altitude steadily increase when the copter is just sitting in a room?

Hi, I noticed that the altitude shown on the ST16S is steadily rising when the drone is just sitting here on the ground doing nothing. I thought that it's because of the rising temperature inside the enclosure (rising temperature=lower pressure), but there are two problems with this...

    Battery-optimal cruise speed?

@AH-1G let's assume no wind, 100m AGL, 25 deg. Celsius, video yes, the drone is H520 (we are in the H520 subforum :) ). Humidity - I don't think it is going to have any noticable effect :). @Steve Carr Does it matter if it includes a return flight? (assume no wind). I don't think so, but maybe...

    Battery-optimal cruise speed?

Hi, I will be making waypoint flights in which the drone will be covering long straight lines and I need to get the most distance out of each battery. What speed is the most battery-efficient?

What are the differences in battery type profiles in smart chargers?

Hi, my SkyRC Q200 and other chargers have special programs for various types of batteries - LiPo, LiHV, LiIo (the ones we are all surely familiar with), NiMH, NiCD, PB. My question is - are there any differences how these programs work, apart from different voltage values for...

Does RTK help with electromagnetic or radio interference?

Hi, so I think after my last thread I gained a better understanding of hiw RTK works, but I wanted to clarify one thing. RTK drones are very often advertised as great for technical inspections. I'm wondering what is the reason for this. RTK will allow for better and more precise stabilisation...

    Weather condition limits for H520
