Did you ever figure it out? I believe I have the latest update as nothing happens during the update process, i.e. camera LED turning purple, camera shuts off, etc. It just keeps blinking green...

The builds were for WIFI networks - and it just crossed my mind the same might be possible. Then I took out the controller and realized it doesn't have any external antennae. Oh well! Here's to waiting for my warranty to run out OR to get a different platform!

Thanks for the explanation Steve! That's understandable about the channel limitation, though I still wished Yuneec would focus on this modular idea a bit heavier. If the CGO3+ is really an improvement, I'd rather have it even without the addition of 360 rotation, which seems like it could be...

I was really hoping that the camera system would be more modular and allow for upgrading the camera without the bird. I understand weight restrictions, but I can't imagine a CGO3 and 3+ are that different in weight.

Great idea! And this is why I liked the Yuneec brand - it seems to attract a lot of DIY folks that are making the most of their drones; with or without the help of Yuneec! Please keep us updated as it's a great idea/challenge!
