10+years all good but...... it finally happened. Free fall outta da sky from200' ...possibly GiFi battery only thing i can think of

Well I saw another thread where they had lost GPS when using an aftermarket GiFi battery, This was almost new and not a bit puffy. Stored at 50% and slow charged at 4amps...one cell was weak and never did come up to 100% . I really didnt think it would be an issue...never said anything about low battery warning.....just GPS signal lost...Man it sucks but It is what it is.....

The flight logs will be on your controller. Upload the flight logs and we may be able to tell what happened.
Almost afraid to ask, but did enough survive to make repair feasible?

I guess the good news is there was nothing wrong with the drone or the battery.
The logs show the drone received a command from the controller to stop the motors. It will take a while to review further. Do you recall doing anything about that time?

like hit the red button? i guess it's possible, I haven't flown in months and only a handful of times in the last couple years....so I would be rusty....but it would be a little hard to hit the red button...plus held a few seconds...I usually grab a leg and hold the red button... actually I'm 97% sure i didn't hit the red button....The video was glitching in a couple of the video clips i saw and it usually doesn't do that. esp. that close in

If you pulled the video from the ST16 the jerky and skipped frames are normal. The good video is on the camera card.
If you don't have a working CGO3+ then you can copy the file to another card and try it in any camera (that will take video) to see if it will close the file properly. Don't use the original sd card or you may destroy the file.
If that doesn't work you can upload the file to a cloud server and give us the link. One of us can download it, put it on a card and put it in a CGO3+. I've done that before and it works.

Better reviewers may help later. Best I can see the event started at about 200 ft up. A rapid descent was started under power. At about 60 ft up, the motors turned off. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Another reviewer messaged me pointing out there is no direct signal the red button itself was pushed. This is where the smart guys help out.

Could just be corroded pots on the controller. Can you check the Hardware Monitor on the ST16 and tell us what you see for stick J1?
 
There is certainly an indication the MR. Red was pushed for nearly 5 seconds. Perhaps it was pressed against something. But there is also an anomaly with the left stick. It stayed in the down position even after the H hit the ground.

One clue we know the motors shut down is because the battery voltage increases at that point. It did increase from 14.9v to 15.2v during the descent.

Oh, there is an indication of sending the motor cut signal to the drone but not by red button, probably.
For me this looks like wrong channel settings, or probably a defect throttle stick. The Throttle signal has -130% sometimes which is not normal.
The -150% (or 0) lasts more than 3s and the flight controller stop motors as expected.

Channel 1 (roll) is also not centered.
 
From the moment on where the cursor is, the throttle stick is out of control, below -100% till -150% which is fatal.

I see no other change in channels. Thats why I think the stick is defect, mechanical and/or electrical.
