I know that puffy batteries are not good but at what point did I need to concern myself. They have about 1/16 of an inch that can be pushed back.

Do the batteries slide in and out of the aircraft without binding?

Is the puffy area in the plastic label area and compresses in with gentle finger pressure?

If your answers are both yes your batteries are normal.

would be smart to start thinking about testing cell resistance,I do use 0ne like that now. Keith C.

This one is a new one on me. How do I check and what should the resistance be?
several videos on you tube explain this as well as some of the more knowledgeable members on here, but you should look it up anyways. I use a tenergy tester,. Each cell has it's own reading in milliohms,or mah. Low readings are good ,while high readings ,say over 20,and caution indicated. New batteries can be 2,4, more less up to 10 mmah.Different readings will be had every time you check. but the extremes mean caution. Keith C.

Which tenergy tester would you recomend?

It's explained here. If your concerned about puffiness, and your Internal resistance is high in milliohms, you'll need a third party charger capable of measuring IR though, you can always discharge it to safe levels and dispose of, use a LiPo killer, and you can use the shell as a battery conversion, if you so wish.
