Camera mode

Hi folks, I recently bought the H as an addition to my q500.
When taking pictures I have always stopped the video, and taken the pic assuming the picture taken was the full 12mp?
Someone recently mentioned I have to switch from video to photo mode during flight and on the touchscreen each time to get the full 12mp picture otherwise it's the 8mp screen grab.

Is there a way to set it up to take 12mp pics without switching modes so the 12mp becomes default?

Not as far as I am aware, the camera always reverts back to the default settings when you turn it off/on anway. This is certainly something that needs fixing so you can have your own setup
