I have an E90 which seems to have a wifi fault as it loses video signal when less than 100m from the controller. I am in the UK and there is no Yuneec service here for a repair. However, I am thinking that the camera would still function through a programmed mapping mission, recording the data to the sd card even if not sending a video picture back to the controller. Does this sound right?

It should continue to record with poor or no video connection.
Is the loss of video signal a new problem?
Are you using the square patch antenna on the ST16 and is it pointed at the H520?

Hi. The problem developed quickly a while ago. I have done comparative tests with two different H520's and another E90 to eliminate other factors. The db signal strength is low compared to the good E90. It's a bit better with a Raptor range extender, but still not as good as it should be.

It should record video regardless of WiFi transmission. However, that is not a good idea.
A likely culprit in this case would be a bad WiFi Antenna.
Replacing the antenna is fairly easy. Continued use of the camera with a bad antenna will destroy the WiFi board. Replacing the WiFi board is a little tricky and challenges a vulnerable ribbon cable that cannot currently be replaced.

Is this a continuation of the issue from January?
Did you ever replace or repair the antenna?

Thanks for that advice @WTFDproject, very helpful. Yes, same issue as previously posted. I haven't attempted to replace the antenna - assuming I could obtain a replacement, is this a relatively simple thing to do? I'm not electronically competent.

Not much electronic involved. For most cameras it is a total of 4 small screws, unsnap the old antenna connector and snap in the new.
Note "most" have 4 screws. 2 at the lower part of the vertical arm cover and two in the roll encoder (right under the lower part of the arm cover.
In some rare cases there are six screws. The other two (in the top of the vertical arm cover) are difficult to access if they exist. Access requires removing the dampers from the mount (there is an access hole in the bottom half of the mount to access the other two screws). And the dampers are a pain all by themselves.

A search on eBay or Amazon for "Yuneec C23 Antenna" should bring up some options,

OK, thanks again. I'll look into that then.

@WTFDproject Thanks for your assistance with this camera issue. I found an antenna on ebay and started the replacement following your instructions. On opening the camera I found that the existing antenna wire was not connected properly. I re-attached the existing wire, tested the drone & camera and it works fine. I now have a spare antenna for any future problems. Thanks again for your assistance.

One plausible explanation for the disconnected antenna might be a sharp bump to the antenna shell. A bump hard enough to stretch the rubber antenna mount far enough to disconnect the antenna. You may want to check the rubber antenna mount is not pulled out of its groves. See the last illustration in the directions above.
