FIRST: Let me stress that I am NOT a Bible thumper in any way, shape or form whatsoever! I do not even attend church except for funerals or weddings. But here is a video I put together anyhow in time for the Easter holiday season. Why, I don't know.

It includes footage I shot of a few local churches using my Typhoon H, a song I recorded using only synthesizers (and my vocals; sorry!) called "Written In Stone," based upon the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5:1-12, and some relevant images I collected as well. I love reggae music (R.I.P. Bob Marley), so the soundtrack is far from conventional, my own take of a reggae theme.

All of that being said, here it is. I did no post-production work on it at all. Straight from the cam, edited, and uploaded as is. As always, any feedback is welcome.

You did a very nice job of production and your flying was great. Some close calls with overhead wires. My only concern would be the overall length. The photos can be 1.5 seconds and that would help. One videographer told me to never show a scene more than once. In other words pick the footage you think best shows the subject and then move to the next. That is the hardest part of editing. Pride of authorship make me squirm when I'm cutting out my own footage.

Gotcha. Thank you SO much for the constructive criticism. Yes, after you've spent time flying and filming a scene and then editing it you do feel married to it to a degree, and I think you also lose some objectivity over what should stay and what can go on the cutting room floor. That's where having a second pair of eyes to give your editing a fresh view and perspective comes in VERY handy if you're lucky enough to have that available to you. Me, I unfortunately work in somewhat of a vacuum bubble. However, I do sometimes float things by my soon to be 15-year-old daughter, my chief critic!

Thank you, too, for your comments on my flying. Yeah, I can come pretty close to wires and obstacles to get the shots I want now. I scour and scout an area very well before I fly in it and then get some test runs in to get my altitudes right, my starting and stopping distances where I am flying while keeping my obstacles mapped out in my head, and basically create my OWN mental 3D model of the airspace I am flying in, so there is no room for surprises. I know quite well how the Typhoon handles in the air, have come to learn and trust the camera and the images it's giving me, and can gauge pretty accurately what my ST16 is showing me via the camera's perspective. I do try to leave myself a margin of error while flying and usually fly with OA off so I can get in where I want to, always remembering that I DON'T have that system protecting me.

Thanks, again, for taking the time to view this video and give me the great feedback I needed. I really appreciate it!

THANK YOU so much for your comments. Each of them really mean alot to me.

Preserving my American Indian (or Native American, to be politically correct!) heritage, customs and Life Ways and passing them along to my children and other Nanticoke Tribal members is a priority to me in my Life. To me, those issues are at the heart of what it means to be a Native, not casinos, sports team mascot "controversies," tax-free cigarettes, fireworks or gas. If we are not keeping the culture alive in our daily lives, then all the rest is just meaningless static to me.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to view my videos and comment on them. Real glad you liked them. Happy and safe flying to you.

GM Bob. I'm a novice at the video thing but practice makes all better, I hope. hi hi Keep up the good work. The hobby is what you make of it and the enjoyment of what you enjoy is price less. I love flying, not matter what it is. I've build a number of S550s but started out on very cheap purchases. Now, I try to help others get started and how to fly. Some say, I make it look easy but all practice and corrected screw ups! hi hi.
One can not be careful enuff. Even the smaller toy type drones and copters can slip a finger pretty good or other damage! Being safe is the name of the game. I found getting permission from land owners is the best policy too. Some turn you down and that's Ok too. Still, better to be on the right side of the law. Keep up the good work
and the Music is good too. I haven't figured that one out yet but will down the road, I hope. Hi hi Hve a great day

Felt like I was playing a game of "Name that Church". A different view for sure. Good job!

Thank you, BobDe. I appreciate your compliments and comments.

You may have even recognized a church or two there. As you know, Sussex County is filled with all kinds of interesting, old, churches, some dating back quite a ways, and also boasts some very modern ones like that church North of Lewes on Coastal Hwy. that dominates its location. I started off the day just with the idea of filming some of the churches to be found found off the beaten path and then my project evolved into the video you viewed.

I haven't forgotten our plans to get together for some flight time. I'll be in touch with you soon about that. I remember you and your wife will be travelling in May, which is just around the corner, so I'll be in touch about a possible date soon.

Thanks, again, and take care!
