Filters for E90 Camera

I had to replace my camera and have not been able to get filters that I was using with an adapter ring to work for some reason on the new E90. The adapter ring starts to thread on, but stops at about 1/4 turn. So I ordered a set of Freewell filters that says on the box that they are comparatable with the E90, but there is no way to get them to screw on. They seem to be too small. Has anyone had any experience with ND filters for the E90?
