In a prior post I asked what the small black box on top was. I was advised that was probably the GPS module for better contact. I believe that is true. When I opened the backpack case, the top of the module came off so I just pushed it back on but it kept coming off. Today I glued it on. Tried to take my first ever Typhoon flight but the screen said "Warning. GPS not function". It flew around like it had no GPS but the ground station said 14 Sats. Could I have broken a wire or disconnected something when I fooled around with it? Is there some sort of test I can run? How do I get a replacement? Nothing like it exists on Amazon and Yuneec Skins is not answering.

Please post a screenshot of the page with the error message showing.

An eBay search for "Typhoon H GPS Module" will bring up a few modules for sale. But it is not clear yet if you need a new GPS or if the issue is something else.

maybe you can find a crashed for parts H or Q-500 and just take it's module... take pictures before removing... check EBay or facebook...

Just after connecting the H status light flashes purple three times, then pauses. Then it will become purple with a white flash every two seconds. This is the message the screen shows and the control beeps and vibrates. If it is too blurred, it says "WARNING! GPS Lost! (Maintain Manual Flight)" I had 11 sats.

That mostly happens when you are in a place without a clear view of the sky, and/or before enough time has passed to get a solid GPS fix. It can, of course, also be problems with either GPS module or FC module.
Take the Typhoon H outside and place it where there is a clear view of the sky and let it try for a while. If it has not obtained a solid fix within about 15 minutes, it would suggest a problem.

Thank you so much. It has been mostly inside because I have not had an opportunity to fly, but when I took it outside yesterday it did it also. However, I did not realize that it took so long to lock on. I will attempt it again (but I need to get new batteries first).

power it up without propellers!!!!! sit it in the middle of a field or park, away from power lines and all metal for about an hour. Internal gps memory may need to update? It could be a broken wire, bad flight controller module or gps. The problem may go away...... and comeback! learn how to fly without gps. nothing wild, at least 20 ft away and maybe 10-15ftr off the ground. Just learn the characteristics of no gps and how the airframe reacts. Trust me....youll need to know how to do this at some point if you fly often and experience a "fly away "scenario where there is no gps thus no return to home. Good luck

The Q500 GPS module does not have a compass. It will not work for Typhoon H.
The Typhoon H GPS does not have a barometer. It will not work for Q500.
