Executive Orders
June 6, 2025
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered:

Section 1. Purpose. Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), otherwise known as drones, enhance United States productivity, create high-skilled jobs, and are reshaping the future of aviation. Drones are already transforming industries from logistics and infrastructure inspection to precision agriculture, emergency response, and public safety. Emerging technologies such as electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft promise to modernize methods for cargo delivery, passenger transport, and other advanced air mobility capabilities.

The United States must accelerate the safe commercialization of drone technologies and fully integrate UAS into the National Airspace System. The time has come to accelerate testing and to enable routine drone operations, scale up domestic production, and expand the export of trusted, American-manufactured drone technologies to global markets. Building a strong and secure domestic drone sector is vital to reducing reliance on foreign sources, strengthening critical supply chains, and ensuring that the benefits of this technology are delivered to the American people.
 
At the recent ExpoUAV (Commercial UAV and Public Safety UAV) in LV, this was a big topic especially among the manufacturers, except Chinese companies. The U.S. companies expect that within 3 years, that for commercial or public safety use, non-NDAA/Blue/Green drones will be relegated to hobbyists. NDAA/Blue drone manufacturers also expect their prices to drop, which I think goes against the supply and demand principle, but we'll see. It was clear that BVLOS is expected to expand to increase commercial operations. The FAA and every corporate rep I talked to (who had a possible dog in the BVLOS fight) encouraged comment on the BVLOS proposed rule. As of this morning, on the Federal Register only 245 had made comments. This surprises me as this will have a huge impact on everyone flying sUAS's. Federal Register :: Request Access

The recent hearings in D.C. with "industry experts" was taken seriously, and none of the "industry experts" I spoke with had much good to say about the "industry experts" that were commented in D.C. The consensus was they were self-serving and did not take industry as a whole into account.

I look forward to the 'lower prices' of NDAA/Blue/Green UAVs. The least expensive drone I saw was roughly $4K and designed for quick, local deployment by police patrol, military etc. The next lowest was about $10K, and that was without payload. Payloads all started around $2700 for a 20MP camera for surveying and that was the low point. Most were more in line with $3-5K. I'm sure there's negotiating room in those numbers, but that was the spoken pricing. Funny, NOBODY had a printed price for anything there.

Not surprising that prices were not displayed. Our current lawmakers in Washington are just like in the days of McCarthyism only now it is that CCP drones are spying on the US no matter who is flying them.

The only reason the US is behind in drone development is because all of our manufacturing has been offshored since the late 70’s in the name of higher profit margins for all the big corporations.

I still haven’t figured out why they call them “blue” drones when the only ones benefiting from them are the “red” side of the fence.

Yep, greed has been the big killer of American industry. And our government has literally handed over so much to China, specifically.

Agreed. The sparkplug and oil filter business where I worked was bought by the Chinese. Other parts of the business went elsewhere (such as Mexico), but very little stayed in the US. Along with losing AC Sparkplug facility (Delphi Automotive) when they filed bankruptcy due to being financially gutted by the CEO and CFO many smaller support businesses that were suppliers also went out of business.
