Is it just me or does spinning the 'copter around to calibrate the compass seem awkward with the camera and gimbal attached?
Yes, so just remove it once you have initiated the compass calibration (you need it on to initiate it, but not after that). Also, don't hang about - you have 30 seconds from the time you hit the button on the controller to remove the camera and complete the calibration, or it will fail with a solid white light at which point you need to start it again.
