New guy seeking a club or SAR group for help learning to fly my Typhoon H Pro as a hobby or to volunteer for SAR. Any guidance / direction would be greatly appreciated. Retired EMS Paramedic after a LODD but I still feel the need to help others!

thanks ahead,
Rob

hi Rob!

Welcome to the Yuneec family and the Yuneec Pilots forum!

If I were still in the Twin Cities area I would be interested in the very same activities you are inquiring about. However, I had the good fortune of being able to move to our cabin in the northwoods of Wisconsin. I suppose I could add a few more three hour treks, should a nice group be formed or discovered. :)

The major benefit for me, aside from the lack of crowds, is the welcome of the frozen lake, giving me a huge playground for my second winter season of flying the H. (Was able to gain enough confidence last winter so landing on a four foot wide dock during the non-frozen time of the year was absent of any real trepidation.) There's a hint there... don't ignore all the lakes around you. They make for great wide open spaces!

I also have an interest in volunteer work for SAR, given most of the departments around here are volunteer. With that said, I will be interested to see if you receive any other replies, and what they might suggest as far as recommendations.

Happy flying!

Jeff

I’m here in Minnesota over by mystic lake casino. I’m into the hobby and inspections. Would love to work the heck out of the h. Hoping next spring brings more opportunities. As far as clubs go. They are mostly fixed wing and helicopters. We need a drone club to start up.
