I've had my H+ for about a month with about a half dozen flights under my belt. Just learning to fly right for now, but, every time I go out, I try to test some of the functions. Today, I wanted to test the real sense module. I turned on OBS and flew a few laps around the local football field. I got to one of the goalposts and real sense detected the obstacle but would not fly past it. It stopped and hovered even though I had full forward stick. I thought real sense would figure out a way around it whether increase altitude or fly around. Is this not the case? I'm a little confused how this is supposed to work. Any help would be appreciated.

RealSense will fly around obstacles in follow modes and RTH. Not sure of other flight modes. First time I used it was manually flying into a Stop sign. It stopped.

Now that I can recall their advertising video, it shows a skateboarder with follow me mode clearly on when they started talking about Real Sense... so yeah I guess that would make sense! Normal flight mode isn’t out... yet... #Waits4FirmwareUpdate

Real sense only works in follow me, watch me and smart mode. What you had happen was the Obstacle Avoidance System kicking in to prevent you from flying into said goalpost. So it deadsticks your drone from flying forward until the object is removed or you direct it in a different direction

Thanks for the info. I'm sure I'll have some more dumb questions learning all this. New to drones and RC in general.
