Typhoon H3 Battery

The four outer pins on each end are for the main positive and negative leads for the pack. The four inner pins are the balance leads used in charging.

Brilliant thank you. All four of my batteries wouldn't charge when i put them in the DY5, a message popped up saying 'Faulty Battery' Admittedly, i charged them up ready to use a couple months ago, but got side tracked and i forgot to discharge them. I was looking into balancing the cells using the manual method i read about on the forum. But i found another workaround.

im not sure if the DY5 is meant to work like this or not, but this is what i did...

With the DY5 powered off, insert a battery, (i put two in.) hold down the charge \ store button(s) and power on the DY5. It powers up balances the cells for you. It showed one cell in each of my batteries was very low, after a few hours of running a Store cycle, the DY5 showed all cells were 50% level. I started a charge cycle which charged them all full.

The battery was inserted into my H3 and i did a test hover to see how it performed which did appear normal. i will be perform more tests later when im in an open area.

That was a stroke of genius! Most chargers just fault out when an individual cell is out of tolerance. I think you found a hidden gem.

Closely monitor your charging and flight times to see how your batteries are doing after this incident.

I was bad to leave too much charge on my batteries and cause them to swell. Once I learned the 3DR Solo drone battery used nearly the same battery cells, I started using them to build replacement batteries, and I have not had an issue with batteries since. I have even left a full charge on a couple of the rebuilt 3DR batteries, and they never did swell or lose their charge.
