Update firmware or not?

OK finally tried some distance since the 1.28 flash firmware and 3.01 reinstall .I took it up to 395 ft. Flew it out to about 1600 ft. Then flew it around in big circles till it had traveled about 1.45 miles then landed it .no video problems no loss of connection finally back to flying.
