For what is that "defect" part of my H520?

Hi All!

First, I want to introduce myself:
I'm a new H520 owner and live in the wonderful Bavaria!! It's my first drone with GPS after I tried some much smaller drone indoor.

So let me tell you my problem:
I bought a used H520, and it flies really great (with some connection issues).

But on the bottom it has a "destroyed" part and I cannot find anything about it on the Internet. So I took some pictures and hope you can help me. I also watched a lot of videos and all H520 in the video look complete different at that point.

Thanks
Rainer

Welcome to the Forum.

The destroyed part is not a Yuneec part. It looks like it may have been part of something that was 3D printed aftermarket for some specific purpose. It is using the opening in the lower shell that is normally covered either by a RealSense Module or an LED cover. I'm not sure the H520 actually has an LED. The function of that LED was moved to the rear motor LEDs on the H Plus and H3, and only the LED cover remained to plug up the hole if RealSense was not used.

Welcome, viele Grüße aus dem westlichen Bayern ;-).
The RealSense connector is a great source of 5V power supply for a non-original additional part such as MAVlink Bridge, additional FPV camera, bright LED spotlight and so on. What it really was you must ask the seller. However, it is nothing to worry about. The 5V supply is fused.

Here is a small example.
Photo 1: connection protection device
Photo 2: device removed for mounting a beacon which allows, in France, "out of sight" flight.
