Hi all,

I finally was able to discover more commands in the CGO3 firmware, which are not available to us. So, while the Typhoon H might use these features with the most recent firmware update, we would probably be left out in the cold with the Q500. But there are a couple of features, which are already in the firmware (CGO3, Version 2.4):

  • Get/Set Metering Mode (0 = Spot, 1 = center, 2 = average, 3 = custom)
  • Get Wifi Speed (although there is a Set Wifi Speed function, which does not return an error when used, it doesn't affect the speed settings)
  • Get/Set Audio volume (I haven't managed it yet to get this working, I get a timeout here... to bad)
  • Get/Set Photo Mode (Single, Burst, Timelaps; I have to find out which values per modes are allowed)
  • Get/Set Sharpness (just to be complete here, I already found this command some months ago :) )
I will add these commands to my Typhoon Camera app as soon as possible.

I may also dig deeper into the CGO2+ and CGO3+ but I don't have these cams, so I can't test it. But anyway, still some good news for CGO3 users.

Thank you for efforts with this! As a new cg03 owner l feel hopeful that the bus hasn't left for good. I am always hoping that with every bit of tech that I buy that is outdated by the time I can afford it, that someone will continue to show some love for those things that are no longer profitable from a corporate viewpoint.

Long live the typhoon app! I will buy it.

Metering and timelapse are huge!

I'm using an iPhone SE with iOS 10.0.1. I've downloaded the latest CGO3 app (v1.0.7). I can never connect to my CGO3. It accepts the password, but eventually the WIFI times out and will not connect.

Does the CGO3 software only work while the camera is on the steady grip?

YES, THE STEADY GRIP CONTROLS THE CAMERA OR THE DRONE CONTROLLER.

what version are you using that includes settings for sharpness? i am using what google play store is saying is the latest version V01.0.0062 and I can't find any sharpness settings. cheers

Yeah. I was able to set the wifi speed of the CGO3 from 6MBit to 54MBit. Downloading a 460MB large video file lasts only 3 Minutes instead of 17 Minutes. However, I assume that higher speed rates will have a large impact on the wifi range. Anyway, if you have the camera next to you and you want to download the contents of the card without removing it, it will help a lot.

I guess that this should work on CGO2+ too. What's the default wifi speed of a CGO3+?

Yet something else:

Does anyone know these frame rate options?

1920x1080F120full
1920x1080F120wild

Maybe it affects the type of encoding. Full could mean that all frames are I-frames. Anyone out there to test this?
