I have recently got a Breeze and due to warnings from this forum and other reviews have not upgraded to the latest firmware. However I am interested in using the controller that comes with the FPV kit. Already running the latest version of the iOS Breeze Cam app that has the FPV option, but is there a required firmware version needed to use the controller? Am a little hesitant about upgrading the firmware only to have wifi dropouts like others have complained about.

Hi Geoclyde: I also purchased a Breeze and the FPV kit. I have the latest App (FPV option) and the Breeze tells me there is firmware available but I will not go for it. Everything works great without any problems; you should be fine to fly FPV without upgrading the firmware.
