First Time Above The CLOUDS!

Nice video indeed, and those rule are already in effect in the USA, just don't think the FAA chases them down that much yet. I read they are going to tighten down even more in Canada, is that true Agustine?

Not really tighten down but they new rules will come into effect officially this summer or fall. There might be some fine tuning to the interim order but if there is it should be for the better not get any worse.

However, in Class G airspace at 400', the requirement is just, "...1 mile visibility and remain clear of clouds..."

Thanks for the reference 'smutny'! you are totally correct, and avoiding clouds does not mean fly through them to get clear.

And before anyone says that is for airplane pilots, not someone flying a drone, think again. You are a pilot and are bound by the rules set forth by the FAA (if you are in the USA). The only time it is permissible to fly through a cloud is in an emergency situation to avoid possible injury or property damage and must be reported to the FAA as an emergency (the time limit escapes me at the moment, but 48 hours comes to mind).
