formatting SDcard for CGO4

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if it's possible to format a SDcard when it's inside the CGO4? The manual doesn't mention anything about formatting... Or do you have to format the card before you insert it into the CGO4?

I suspect it must be formatted before use. If the ST24 has a sd slot like the ST16 then there is probably a format menu available.

The CGO4 app on my iPad mini has a format function for the SD card but I have not verified its operation.
