Good morning,
I have an H520 without a camera. I bind it with the ST16s. OK, the satellites lock on (the rear blue LEDs are solid). When I arm the motors, they start and stop after 2 seconds, even if I put them in manual mode.

What do I need to do to arm the motors and make it work without a camera?

Thanks

If you do not take off with the H520, it is normal for it to automatically switch off the rotors again.
Even if you start the motors without the rotors attached, they will switch off again immediately and...
only 5 motors will run at the same time. This is normal behavior for the H520.

This is my understanding of it ,
GPS can be locked, but without a camera the ST16S gets no full telemetry. The missing payload handshake causes the H520 to abort arming, so the motors start then stop.

It's a little confusing.
The headline says: H520E ST16S without camera.

The H520E comes with the ST16E, which does not require a camera for telemetry.
The H520E does not transmit data via Wi-Fi, but via OFDM.

Now we need to clarify which drone we are talking about...
H520 with ST16S or H520E with ST16E?

I was able to use a wemos D1 mini or esp8266 to connect and fly a H520 without a camera, it’s a tedious process but works very well. I modified the entire payload section to work with 5.8ghz analog & a raspberry pi ground station forwarding telemetry to ST16s over WiFi, and giving me a legitimate ground station if needed.
WiFi adapters/antennas are necessary for any decent range, and I haven’t been able to get it working with any software like dronebridge on 5.8ghz.
Make sure to use 500,000 baud as well
