Iceland, two 3.9mm Peau photos, southeast Iceland

Wow, that's unexpected. I'm getting confused about the scale of that ice. What focal length does the Peau relate to in 35mm?
Any idea how old that ice is? And can the 'dirty' layers of dirt be related to specific eruptions?
 
The "dirt" is primarily volcanic pumice from hundreds of years ago...the brownish color towards the bottom and in the water is a combination of things along with the pumice.

According to specifications from Peau, 3.97 mm lens is equivalent to about a 23mm focal length lens on a standard 35mm camera.
