Just saw this ap. Anyone use it on their smartphone? Can it interfere with the drone and/or cause the drone to fly out if control?

The app is a joke. Alerts you to someone snooping??? You gotta be kidding. A noisy machine with flashing lights and wide angle camera can hardly be considered as a stealthy surveillance device. And, no, it is a federal crime to interfere with the operation of an aircraft so it can't make a drone fly away.

Ok. Just saw it on a comment while reading a story of a drone operator crashing at a festival and injuring a lady. Glad nothing is out there like it - yet.

No it cannot ... it only notifies when drone is within the range of the WiFi of the phone (¼ to ½ mile)

The app is not a joke and many people and well a businesses are concerned about drones being used to invade privacy or to fly in restricted areas. As the developer notes, the APP can be used as part of a wide area security system to control airspace.
