Yes and s lot of people have been caught out, they think its shallow and drive back, only to get stuck where the road is a little deeper.
I mentioned in another thread that when I returned to the causeway later in the day and at a time when I knew the tide would be in that when I got there, there were a whole bunch of people in their cars lined up and couldn't get across the causeway, and that there was a coastguard helicopter attempting to land at the mainland side of the causeway. @Mrgs1 It turned out that the helicopter was there to rescue some people who had been caught out by the rising waters. That causeway can be treacherous to the careless. I real boon for those seeking the Darwin award.
