The SD card shows as being read in the drone, but when I put it in the steady grip, it says no SD card is read/detected. I'm hoping it's not a malfunction in the sd card reader, because what good is a video drone if the recording hardware is broken? still kinda fun I guess, but for no video recording it should be way cheaper.

Are you saying the card in the camera works when the camera is connected to the drone, but doesn’t work when the camera is mounted in the steady grip?
If that is the case, I would check for good connection at the contacts on the steady grip.

Does the app come up correctly on your device? If the camera is connecting and you are getting a view on your phone/tablet... do you know it is only with video? Did you try a photo? Or does it indicate no media detected?
