A fresh battery at this height id imagine would be very important as it would require extended full throttle.

The problem was not climbing, it was the descent that caused most failures. As I recall the max ascent rate was 3 m/sec and descent 2 m/sec. So allowing extra time to descend was often misunderstood. Also, descending at an angle is important to avoid Vortex Ring State. VRS causes helicopters to crash and that also applies to the Q500. I would descend in a spiral or at an angel back to home to prevent entering VRS.

Finally arrived. Loving the q500 already. Very impressed with the st10+ controller, very comfortable and the box this comes in is very nice. It was nice to unbox it and take off all the stickers. Very pleased there was a new one available or new old stock. Flies very nice, perhaps not as stable as the hex in wind . I was very surprised how massive the props are on this model. Looking forward to the weather improving a bit now. My wife said it’s ugly as ****

I think they are cute. The big blades are impressive compared to the H. I have heard they are easy to fly. I may try one someday.

I seen John zap some bad batteries. He would drain them to zero and then - zap them and recharge but usually on his rc charger.
sometimes on the dy3 or dy5.

It’s very easy to fly , I’ve been enjoying it every evening with the lovely spell of weather we rarely get. As soon as the kids are asleep I’m out the door

Yes of course, it’s just a shame about the glare from the street lamp. That and the house with a very cracked wall . Any image I upload can be used for anything you like. I’m not much of a photographer
