Newbie with a Yuneec Typhoon

Picked up a Typhoon today, not got her out of the box yet any top tips prior to my 1st flight? I have bought this as a step up from my DJI Phantom2.

I have downloaded the GUI and fired it up and made a note of the serial number and have ticks on all the hardware status etc. The prop check didnt spin the props up in the GUI is this a fault with the software? Not sure when I will get a chance to try flying yet may try on Weds evening if its dry. Going to get the dynotape machine out in work tomorrow for the 'if found please call sticker ' before getting too far.
