Q500 4k Firmware update problem

I have read some of the fixes but did not see the one that matches my issue,hope someone can help i have had this drone for a year and just got to flying after a neck surgery and have been trying the firmware update i have loaded the gui update and it will not launch it shows down in the left hand lower corner disconnected trying to find a port but never launches any ideas tried through the Mac and Pc same results called tec help and utube video help no cigar Help?

Hook up the GUI.
Go into the Windows Device manager and look for the Com port section of the drivers.
Open Com ports and see what port Windows assigned to the GUI.
Go back into the GUI and confirm your on the port assigned by Windows.
