Hello, is it possible to remap buttons on the st16? The landing gear switch is broken and I'm not sure I myself could fix it

You can get a replacement switch from www.YuneecSkins.com. Fairly easy to open the ST16 and replace the switch.

The question is which switch you want to use? I have not tested this up to now but remapping should be possible with channel settings.
Channel settings is a complex procedure and the danger to do worse things is high. If you play with channel setting test all functionality before using the output monitor and do 1st flight without camera.

Update: I tried it now and it does not work. But it is very dangerous to do such thing. I deactivated the gear switch but there is no way to activate it again. Strange. This needs really a factory reset.

This will not help. As I said above - you can LDG mix to another channel but not another channel mix to LDG. This is what you would need to replace the defect LDG switch but not could get.

I know of no general guide for remapping the ST16.
Is there a particular feature you need to change?

Thank you for the response. Simply until I replace the ST16 Toggle Switch (which is broken) I wanted to re-map Landing gear up and down as the Aux button (If possible)

I realize this can be dangerous if done; incorrectly. So Im asking to the experts here first :)

Thanks,

You're kidding us, guy...
I'm using the LDG switch for camera movement. Is this violence of our faith?

I'm not saying you should do this, but it looks like you can remap the landing gear switch to another switch by modifying the switches.csv file in the model. I'm not sure how much you know about exporting/importing models, but you would have to export the model, move it to a computer, modify it, and them move it back to the ST16 and import it.

As an example by modifying the switches.csv file like so:
1,0,Aux9,10,0,3,-50,0,0,1,0,0,2
5,0,Aux7,10,0,3,100,0,-100,1,1,1,1
6,0,Aux7,10,0,3,0,0,150,0,0,1,1
9,0,Aux4,10,0,3,10,10,100,1,1,1,1
10,0,Aux5,10,0,3,-100,-40,100,1,1,1,1
11,0,Aux10,10,0,3,-100,100,0,1,1,0,1
12,0,Aux8,10,0,3,-100,100,0,1,1,0,1

I swapped AUX10 and AUX8 that are going to channel 11 (which is the landing gear switch or S5 by default) and channel 12 (which is the AUX button or B2 by default). I haven't tested this on a drone, just looking at the ST16 HW monitor, but I think this makes it so when you push the AUX button the landing gear will go up. But since the Aux button is a momentary SW, as soon as you stop pressing the AUX button. You could instead swap the landing gear switch with S1 (tilt mode) or S2 (pan mode) if you wanted to give up those functions. You might be able to swap with S3 (obs avoidance) but I'm not sure if it would have unintended consequences.

People! Just use channel settings. Deal?

Nope, no deal. I will take criticism if you think what I am doing is dangerous or may lead to damage, but I don't believe that talking about different ways of doing things or how they work detracts from the information in this thread or on this forum.

Do it as you want. I just wanted to say this is an one time tuning. No reason to go in deep.

H was mentioned . Sorry, I didn't use reply.
What you are doing is easy. Of course you can use LDG to control other channels like camera movement. But what channel settings cannot do is other channels to use to control LDG.The difference is the following:
Go to channel settings > tap to A03 (Ch7) which is connected with K2. Then tap to S5 and you will get the Edit menu. All good - you can mix LDG into it.

Now tap to A07 (Ch11) which is connected with S5. Tap on S1 and you will NOT get the Edit menu.

Editing the CSV file is a good idea. Maybe with that anything can be done. But yes, it is untested and dangerous. But test with Output monitor should be a good approach. HW monitor is not usable for this. What currently works for me is edited CSV file that opens Stability mode (status LED blue aka blue mode from Blade 350QX) for the Q500.

You are hundred percent right! I have shared a dumb solution which didn't work anywhere.
