I've tried many times in the simulator to restart the motors after purposely shutting them down in flight. Until yesterday I'd never been successful at it. I was able to do it twice and got the drone back on the ground.
The drone tumbles once the motors are restarted and by pushing the right joystick all the way up and the left one all the way down I was able to recover. That combination wasn't always successful. This is something that I would only attempt in the simulator. I do have to wonder if anyone has ever had to do this in the real world with a real drone? If so, were you able to recover and land safely? What did you do to recover?
