ST10 Controller Not Searching/Finding GPS

Hi. I’m looking for some advice. I have 2 Blade Chroma drones. I know, they’re old lol. But it was my first drone and works good still for what I use it for. They both use the ST10 controller. One of the drones works great. The other is not searching for GPS or satellites when it boots up. My other one says acquiring in the GPS box when it’s booting up, then works as it should. The drone not working, I bought from a guy in England and I’m here in the states. I believe the GPS is not working properly due to the extreme location change. Is this possible? How can I fix this? I’ve tried changing the GPS mast on the drone itself. This did not give it. I’ve read that the “GPS battery” can die. And to turn the drone on for a couple hours to see if it will charge. I was thinking of changing the receiver in the drone itself that connects to the ST10 controller? I’ve also compared versions/firmware from the controller that works to the one that is not working. All versions are the same. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

If the drone is stuck in "Aquiring" mode not neccessarily the GPS module is the reason for. It could also be the IMU. Sometimes the IMU chip cannot calibrated any more. This happens sometimes for drones that were not used for a long time. If IMU is out of BIAS the EKF output for altitude and NED orientation is implausible and the pre-flight check fails.

To check what really happens you have to connect to the GUI which shows all needed information about HW status.

In general, the rule is: first diagnose, then attempt repairs, not the other way around.

Agreed. A few people have had this same issue, and rushed to have it replaced

I do have spare ST 16/10 parts and GPS modules for almost every model in stock if it is eventually needed
