I have always made sure that my ST16 was fully charged before heading out, but recently, I had a request to do several video flights in one day and was wondering at what level the ST16 battery level would start to affect signal strength - 60%? 50%? 40%? Anyone done an actual (real life) test?

I would highly recommend not fly the st16 below 50 percent if at all possible. I would never rely on just one battery for the st16 controller. I carry 5 st16 batteries that a ready to and know I am set for 6 hours and 40 min if I am at a area with no power outlets. If was at an area with power made avalible for use I am set to fly sunup to sundown because I have 3 dedicated chargers for just the st16 batteries.

I've done a lot of days where things were ended at 40% remaining on the ST-16. I've not gone lower.

I have just ordered a second backup battery for the ST16. I can get about 2 solid hours of "on time" until the fully charged ST16 battery goes to about 40%. For the amount of flying I do, the 2 batteries should do fine for a day's work unless business really ramps up....

DAN, solve your poblem with a powerbank connected to the ST16 from the start of you flight(s). Have used it for a year now, works great.

hello,
I used the ST16 up to 20% without any problems. You just have the logo that turns yellow and an internal buzzer that tells you to change the battery.
I have a second battery and a solar powerbank

A little help please. What is the most flights you have had before charging the ST16. Thank you in advance.
I use the Powerbank connected to the ST16 continously when I have to fly more than 4 batteries (approx 40minutes) for one mission. Without powerbank I never go under 45%. It's not a matter of nbr of flights, it's time.

I’ve done as many as 7 flights on an ST-16 battery but my flights are shorter than many do with theirs. Typically 7 to 12 minutes each. The 45% level previously mentioned is where I stop with mine as well.

Rather than try to max out the controller battery I’ll suggest you buy a spare and keep it charged up as a spare. They change out easily.

I still suggest to connect a Powerbank to the ST16 before you fly so you don't have to land and start (your important mission) all over when the ST16 battery goes under 45%.

That’s a good idea , I have a couple of these things floating around , All though the preflight pre trip check list gets longer and longer .
