Should I remove the camera for the first flight of my TH, in case something goes wrong or I screw up?

Yeah, it flies just fine without a camera.
After my Sept 1 crash due to shitty firmware, I always fly the TH without a camera now, for the first few flights after a new firmware upgrade.

Indeed no problem w/o camera, although the ST-16 will keep saying it is looking for the camera (just ignore it).
Main thing is to go slow. I suggest taking off, flying and landing in Angle mode. OA off. Go from there. I think you will like the H, it is an impressive drone. Best wishes. As you see, there are good folks on here always glad to help.
