Tree Shadows turn blue

Best Buy has sold Polars. Bought a set from them myself. I never saw any of the Freewell advertised with them.

The often used standard UV filter will decrease blue in the shadows, however you have to get higher end ND filters that also incorporate UV or IR filtering. Nothing that would fit the H, but standard 39 and 40.5 MM sizes are available for the H Plus.

Tiffen 40.5mm Solid Neutral Density Infrared (IR) 1.2 W405IRND12

Formatt Hitech 40.5mm Hot Mirror/Neutral Density BF 405HMHDMD124

IIRC, and its been a couple years, the filter being used was an “adjustable level” filter similar in make up to a polarizing filter. It really sucked.

The consensus is that the blue shadows are a result of sun angle and filter correct?

Here's a clip of the clip.

thoneter, I hate to say it but the rest of the video looks very odd as well, even in 4k. Blurring and blocky near the top and over-sharpened near the bottom. Were you using a polarizer filter or ND filter? Try again without any filters. I use PolarPro ND filters on my CGO3+ and have been very happy with the results, even pointed into a low sun.
As for locking WB, yes, switching out of video mode will loose the Lock. I also use a white/gray card before takeoff. You can reset WB in flight using one of the preprogrammed WB modes like Sunset and then Lock.

I do a lot of 360's and video. I switch back and forth which makes the white/gray card pointless which is frustrating. I am using the PolarPro ND filter and this is the only time I've had this happen. Just looking for some insight into the issue.

On the 360's after shooting video I have to stop after the first picture and restart to get the right WB. Not sure what Yuneec did for programming the cgo3+ camera that this issue arises but it is a major negative for me.

I only posted the part of the video that had the issue. During that same shot/video I brought the H back into the sunlight again and the issue didn't happen so I'm assuming it's a random issue that has to have the right angle, filter, sunset etc for it to occur.

Good to see that others are having the WB lock issue besides me.

I gonna say it may not be the filters but rather the camera itself. My CG03+ over the past four months has on a few occasions decided to seemingly take on a camera option it does not have - Zebra striping the blown out areas of an image.

Seriously though, when I was shooting this property I could see nothing on the ST screen that looked out of place but when we went through the photos, these stripes appeared in all of the highlights. I subsequently removed the camera, cleaned the contacts and it went away only to return about two months ago. Did the same thing and all has been well.

Perhaps this is just another of the CG03+ anomalies?

Zebra stripes is very handy. I use that on my other video equipment. It's very hard to judge exposure from the ST16 screen. Too bad it's not an option on the TH. The histogram helps.

Yep, when I first saw this I thought 'wait a minute, when did we get this option'?:) I also prefer Zebra stripes and my LX10 has them and I find it very useful and if it could be added to the C23 or CG03+ I would love to see that
