I was inspired by H plus and I liked the idea to have the antennas outside. I have some DJI inspire antennas laying around and I print some case for them and here it is what I come up with. Maybe someone gets inspired too.
Yea the stock H920/plus antenna setup is a joke. I was barely getting 1500 feet with little to no wifi noise. I just couldn't accept that so I got the Itelite DBS system for the controller and modded the drone with 2 external antennas for the receiver (control & telemetry). Yes, the antennas on DJI where parallel installed. I have very good signal but I did not push it to the limit yet because I have a different problem with the drone now. I will start a new thread and maybe I get some answers. When the antennas were on the DJI, were they laid parallel to each other as they are on your H920? All other Yuneec models have the 2.4gHz antennas at ~90 degree angle to improve the shape of the signal field.
