Started a previously saved CCC route. The bird started to move and then started to descend and landed with a couple of bounces. I had to stop the engines. Took off again and set up a new CCC which went normal. I"m guessing that the drone lost its start altitude reference when I started the CCC and thought the starting altitude was on the ground. Why would it do that?? I had not flown in a couple of weeks, maybe 3 weeks and had very good Sats.

What was the ambient temperature when you first created and flew the mission? What was it today?

I did not read the question correctly. Cannot remember what the temp was when the CCC was created but it was definitely colder than todays 75. Your thinking that the temp diff could have thrown the barometer off?

It was fortunate that I had not retracted the landing gear!

Try refreshing accelerometer on a level spot first. My original warranty claim was when my H did the same thing on a recalled CCC mission. It can deviate by more then 3’ from original start waypoint in any direction and sometimes it’s down. Glad your gear was down.

Thanks Craig. Will do. Di
d you ever determine what was the actual cause?

No. It was the beginning of a protracted warranty back and forth. In the end, they replaced gps/compass and IMU and that’s all they wrote down. I do know that the longer the time between CCC runs, the less reliable it is. I spent a lot of time last year perfecting a flight path in my local park. It’s not accurate at all now. The start point is so off that the route is not online anymore with my “subjects”. I think CCC makes senses at the moment when working with a DP and their desires but honestly, I can repeat stick fly just as well and give camera over to operator in team mode for better results.
