The advise to ascend is a very good point.

A few articles I've read suggest that, I've been told it's less aggressive to the bird to ascend. Prey would descend and it would be game on, so I was told.

I would have thought it had more to do with being the one manoeuvre we can do that they can't do faster or better ! They have to really struggle to gain height in one spot like that...

I thought this was a question on our study material to obtain a 107.
I've know this for years.
