Hey, I know this is a long shot but I want to upgrade my drones remote so I can use some other features, is there away to get the st16 pro or st24 working with the typhoon g and if so how

Thanks

Typhoon g, how simple is it to connect as from the videos I've seen there isn't a modal for it to be selected

The model in not the problem. I have bound a Q500 to st16 and ST24 too, using the default model that is there.
But I guess the MK58 will make problems. On ST24 and ST16 no camera type MK58 is available. MK58 has another connection path compared to the other cameras. I don't have a MK58, so I cannot test this. Maybe the LK58 on ST24 can deal with MK58. I would go to ST24.

The camera im not to worried about as I'm upgrading that eventually, if u got any recommendations for a gimbal camera what will work then I would appreciate it

The best choice for the Q500 is the CGO3 camera. A CGO3+ would also work if the Q500 has a camera mount with contacts that only newer Q500 had. Mine not yet.
The CGO3+ sends video with 720p. This is good for a ST16 but will not work with ST10 and ST24.

What receiver thing would that camera need as I assume i would need to replace that
Yuneec cameras compatible with Q500 are self-contained. The camera/gimbal/Wifi are all combined into the one unit. You only need the Yuneec Camera.
The gimbal on the Typhoon G was made to carry other brand cameras so you needed the MK-58 as sort of an "adapter".

Hey, i got the remote today, so far I'm getting receiver was not selected on the st16 but I'm able to move the gimble up and down

You are binding an ST16 to a Q500 and CGo3, correct?

Can you send a pic of the binding screen with drone, camera and controller all powered up and sitting for a minute before taking picture?

Do you have an image on screen?

Hey, no i was trying to connect the MK58 and the comment was more so other people wasn't left hanging if they searched this

Basically there are two independent connections:
- 2.4GHz RC control, protocol is ZigBee (SR24 receiver/transmitter)
- 5GHz video connection, protocol is standard WiFi, MK58 or the CGOxx cameras work as WiFi hotspot with DHCP server.
Gimbal is controlled via 2.4GHz ZigBee (tilt, pan). Camera settings are controlled via WiFi with CGI commands.

Those two connections we can see in the bind screen on the STxx. For the ST16 the 2.4Ghz connection is the same as used for Q500 with ST10 (same for all legacy Yuneec drones like Blade Chroma, H920, Q500 and Typhoon H).

The 5GHz Wifi connection depends on the camera. And this is the problem here. ST16 is no more supporting MK58 (see camera type selection).

MK58 is not compatible to the CGOxx cameras, it has a different IP address.
CGO2+/CGO3
Media files: http://192.168.42.1/DCIM/100MEDIA/
Live stream: rtsp://192.168.42.1/live

MK58/GoPro
Live stream: rtsp://192.168.110.1/cam1/h264

Other cameras too; example:
Lumix/GCO4
Live stream: rtsp://192.168.73.254:8557/PSIA/Streaming/channels/2?videoCodecType=H.264

That means, ST16 will not connect to IP subnet 192.168.110.0 because it didn't "know" this network any more.

I don't know if there is a patch or a trick to add MK58 to the camera list.

Thanks you confirmed there is away to view the camera and from Google there isn't, what is the ip it would be looking for with the CGO3
