Experienced Pilots ?

Hey experienced drone pilots, I've very little experience flying my drone. This morning I was flying and after roughly five minutes into flight the quadcopters lights began flash red, I became alarmed and switched button to home the copter came back to me. I gained a false sense of control of the copter so I switched button back to smart and continued flying lights began flashing really fast so I switched the button back to home the copter did not respond instead it began to descend on its own landing then flipping over, This took place on a golf course at 5am wanted to catch the sunrise and crashed instead Doesn't look broken but to add insult to injury I didn't get any footage. After doing a compass calibration I didn't know how to get back to the camera view screen on the ST10. Not flying again until I figure some things out. Can any of you experienced pilots offer a few easy to use tips to get me flying with confidence, I'd greatly appreciate it.

For me this sounds like Voltage warning 2 was raised and self landing started. How is your battery? Do you have a LiPo tester to check?
Did you have seen, what message was on the ST10?

You can check what happened, if and how the voltage was going down by read out the FlightLog data. Those are available at a SD-card below the battery of the ST10. Hope, you have one in. Having one is highly recommended.

I have old batteris and the voltage looks like this:


(2): 2017-09-30 from 16:42:27 to 16:50:22, duration real flights: 06:51 voltage from 12.3V to 10.3V Voltage warning 1!
Voltage breaks down when motors started and power is needed (1) and capacity goes down faster than expected (2).

Thanks a million thats a great place to start. I noticed after flying 2 days ago one of my batteries appears puffy as if it will explode if I continue charging it. After conducting compass calibration I was unable to find my way back to the cam view screen on ST10. I'll follow the steps you suggested and let you know how it goes. Thanks again

Maybe you need to bind the MK58 again. Or during calibration a cable maybe disconnected. Take a view if all is still correct.
Should not be a big deal.
