FAA to require US drones registered by Christmas

This story came out today. Article doesn't say whether this will be new or existing drones. The other thing I wonder is what difference will this make, and who does it really benefit? I would be more for licensing pilots rather than craft. Maybe just a way to collect more taxes.

This registration says I'm legal. I feel much more confident flying anywhere now according to FAA rules. It's a good thing.

Nothing more than a way to keep an honest man honest, do they actually think a terrorist is going to register a drone then send it some where with a pound of c4 attached?

I have no problem registering my drone what so ever.
